The quality of Chinese jade ware is world -renowned. Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Yangzhou are major centers of jade ware production in contemporary China. Jade stone is classified according to different color groupings such as emerald, white jade, green jade, agate, crystal and coral; finished pieces primarily include figurines, animals and birds, flowers, and daily utensils. Chinese jade ware has different schools based on technique and the choice of raw materials. Yangzhou is a traditional center of jade ware production that saw its golden era during the Qianlong years(1736-1795)of the Qing Dynasty.
